“Thank you for praying for language learning. In the last couple of months I feel like I’ve had several ‘ah ha’ moments and as a result I’m able to understand and speak a lot more. I have also started lessons once a week with a Catholic Catechist called Martin. He was involved in translating the Bible into Ngakarimojong, and has a language course he runs for those who are interested. I hoped that this more academic learning would complement my learning with Nasur, and so far it’s been helpful. I am beginning to see more patterns in how the language works and Martin also shares interesting cultural insights. Please pray for our times together, that my language and cultural understanding improve, and for opportunities to discuss faith and how this interacts with the culture here.”
