In a creative access location, Beth* has the joy of reaching out to many with the love of Jesus through language teaching and daily befriending. A recent family bereavement has given cause for reflection on the difference that being a follower of Jesus makes to grieving. In her region of North Africa, typical prayers which are said when someone dies are completely empty of hope. In fact, grieving is not encouraged because life is seen as a test and everything, no matter how awful, must be responded to with ‘praise god’. Pray for Beth* to be able to convey that although death and grief are awful, knowing that Jesus promises to be with us in the darkest valley brings such comfort and hope. Continue to ask that Jesus would open the eyes of the blind, unstop the ears of the deaf, and that the people of this land might know deep love, deep peace, deep rest and deep joy because they know Him.
