Tim & Bron Heaton

“It’s rainy season here in Mozambique and we are so grateful for the rains which bring cooler temperatures and water for our cisterns. However, since Monday evening the top half of the country has been without electricity – those same rains have wreaked havoc on the country. Apparently lots of bridges have been destroyed (carrying power lines) as well as the electricity pylons have fallen over. They are now estimating one month without electricity! Glug! We are better off than most: we have a gas powered fridge, gas oven, and a solar panel to keep our solar fans working at night (very important for the kids). However, it does mean the top half of the country comes to a stand-still, the kids school might be cancelled until the power comes back.”
