Tim & Beth Wood

Mozambique is currently in a period of economic and political instability: “Except for fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat and some rice and cornmeal, most food is imported. In the space of a year, the Metical has lost nearly half its value against the Dollar, pushing up prices. The economic crisis is largely related to previously-hidden government loans. At the same time, however, the political crisis continued – armed conflicts between government and opposition forces. Negotiations with international mediators have made little progress. All is peaceful in Beira and the highway is open. However, we can no longer travel by road from Beira to the north, south or northwest of the country due to the risk of attack.” Please pray that God will bring political stability to Mozambique soon, and relief to the economic situation.
