“Cyclone Idai (Category 3) made landfall 20 miles north of Beira on March 14th and severely damaged 70% of the housing in the city. The flooding that ensued was devastating. Over 600 people lost their lives. The cholera epidemic has been contained but malaria is now rampant and malnutrition is a growing problem. Fields almost ready to harvest were wiped out. Now in the north of the country, Cyclone Kenneth (Category 4) made landfall 60 miles north of Pemba on April 25th. Extensive flooding is happening.
