“Part of life here in Kijabe is seeing many people step out of their comfort zone. Take Joan. She has been working as one of the clinical officers in Pete’s department and has just completed the emergency medicine clinical officer training that Pete ran last year. One of the aims of this programme is to encourage the trainees to consider how they can most effectively serve God with the skills that they have. It was exciting therefore, and extremely humbling, to hear last week that she had applied and been accepted to serve in West Africa to help with the current Ebola epidemic… We are extremely proud of her courage and sacrificial service, and are acutely aware that she will, at times, be stretched and challenged beyond comprehension.”
