“As we come towards the end of our time at Les Cedres, our thoughts are increasingly on the future… we are moving to Mayotte with AIM to join other workers there working towards the evangelisation of the island and the establishment of local Christ-centred churches amongst the indigenous population. We would also love to serve the (largely expat.) church in some kind of Bible teaching ministry. Mayotte is a place in immense need of the Gospel. Most people there do not even know a Christian, are completely ignorant of the Gospel message, do not have a single church where they could go and hear God’s word in their mother tongue. It therefore remains ‘unreached.’ We keep hearing stories of increased petty crime and general unrest on Mayotte over issues related to immigration and other economic issues; but we go there knowing people have a deeper problem: their need for reconciliation with God, and knowing too that they can only have that reconciliation by his grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.” Please pray for the Bakers’ final preparations to go to Mayotte, including the support they need to raise. Please also pray the unrest on Mayotte will settle.
