Andrew Wallace

Andrew leaves on the 11th to fly to Africa-Based Orientation before beginning his assignment working among the unreached Laarim people of South Sudan. He writes: “I will be leaving my home country for two years, with astonishingly little idea of what to expect on the road ahead! The journey God has taken me on personally to bring me to this point is incredible, and it’s so exciting that the time has finally come to go… I’ve spent this last week saying incredibly difficult goodbyes to wonderful friends and colleagues, which has reminded me how blessed I have been by the people God has brought into my life. I look forward now to all the new friendships I will form with the people I’m going to meet over the next couple of years. So many will be from cultures very different to mine, and no doubt there will be a great deal I can learn from them. This final week is about packing and final preparations, and spending time with my family and my fiancée Rosie. Ralph Abernathy once said, ‘I don’t know what the future may hold, but I know who holds the future.’ This is my confidence going forward, that God is sovereign and will be with me, always (Matthew 28:18-20)”
