About AIM

We exist to help you, and your church share the good news of Jesus with African peoples who have the least opportunity to hear.

Our dream

The Bible tells us that one day, people of every tribe, nation, and tongue will gather before Jesus and worship him. To see this promise realised, God needs to raise up Christ-centred churches among all African peoples. Vibrant churches deeply rooted in their cultures, reproducing and growing. That’s our vision, and it is what motivates us to press on!

Over the last 10 years

What makes us tick

Well, our values are the heartbeat of everything we do:

Christ-Centred: Jesus is at the centre of it all. Compelled by Christ’s love, we love, pray for, and proclaim the gospel to Africa’s unreached peoples. All our values flow from this.

Church Connections: We are sent by churches, and whenever possible, we minister to and through churches. We serve, equip, and mobilise churches and believers to join in the Great Commission.

Caring Communities: Relationships are key – so we seek to foster caring communities among AIM members, ministry partners, and local believers.

InCarnational: Just as Jesus dwelled among us, we walk in humility, build relationships, embrace learner attitudes, learn languages and cultures, and strive to live as belongers in our communities.

InterCultural: Diversity isn’t just welcomed; it’s celebrated. We want to be an intercultural organisation, where members and leaders from many cultures and nations feel welcome and actively participate.

Collaboration: We’re better when we work together. We work alongside like-minded churches, organisations, and individuals to see the name of Jesus worshipped by all African peoples, because we know that the Great Commission is for the whole Body of Christ and its different parts.

Creativity: We’re not afraid to think outside the box to share God’s love. While the Lord does not change, he does do new things, so we seek to grow, adapt, and innovate.

Our story

In 1895, God gave a man named Peter Cameron Scott a vision to reach the unreached peoples of Africa with the gospel. That vision sparked the start of Africa Inland Mission, and over 125 years later, we’re still fanning those flames!

But we’re not doing this alone. We believe in the power of partnership. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with African leaders and churches. It’s beautiful to see churches around the world mobilised for mission, sending people to join diverse teams proclaiming the good news, making disciples, and training the next generation of leaders.
