The Mwani people live along the coast of northern Mozambique. Influenced by seafaring Arab merchants centuries ago, their culture is characterised by fishing and folk Islam. Many Mwani who fled terrorist attacks in northern Mozambique in 2020 remain in refugee camps in towns like Nampula and Nacala. As a largely Muslim people group, fear of death, sickness or the power of evil spirits can be very strong. Pray that God will bring comfort, provision, care and ultimately, salvation, to each person through the gospel sharing of those missionaries delivering aid and the love shown by the local church family.Â
