Simon and Miriam are serving Antananarivo, Madagascar, after working for one year with AIM Borderless in the East Midlands reaching African Muslims with the Good News. Before this, Simon was a secondary school teacher, and Miriam was a nurse.
Now in Madagascar, as of February 2023, our primary role involves mobilising Malagasy Christians for God’s mission. They are convicted of the need to invest in Malagasy churches and encourage them to send missionaries to preach the holistic gospel of Christ in other areas of Madagascar and overseas. By developing partnerships with various denominations and conducting training, they raise awareness of the need for mission and equip churches to get involved. In 2025 they formed an AIM Mobilisation Committee, reporting to Southern Region, to bring Malagasy candidates into full AIM membership. They help assess the candidate’s call to mission work, discern their giftings and training needs and then help their church send them. The committee are always thinking of new ways to help Malagasy missionaries be sustainably supported through various channels, including start-up funds for small business. You can give to this work through this link: Malagasy Missionary Support.
Miriam has also set up an association called Hita (meaning “found/seen” in Malagasy), holistically reaching vulnerable women in Antananarivo. Working with her local team, she offers the love, hope, freedom and restoration of Jesus to many women who must resort to desperate measures to support themselves and their families. Hita helps women start new lives, including facilitating dignified work opportunities. The Hita ministry is constantly growing to support the huge demand and is always in need regular financial support.
