Daily prayers

Graham and Fiona have recently retired from service in Africa to settle in the UK. Pray for them as they take the next year as a sabbatical to adjust to this new culture that is now their home and wait on the Lord to discern their roles in a land that feels strange. Ask that the Lord would walk with them and comfort them as they continue to process grief and loss.

Pray for the 2,000  Y refugees living in the Horn right now, whose number is growing all the time due to the ongoing conflict in their homeland.  Pray for an end to the conflict, for suffering people to get the help they need, and for the many refugees who have fled around the world to hear the gospel and be saved.

Pray that as we are part of the precious, redeemed, and dearly loved people of the Lord, we would strive to be increasingly seeking Jesus’ presence in prayer, in complete dependence on Him for grace, guidance, strength, wisdom, and fruitfulness (John 15:5)

Please pray for those working among African diaspora communities in the UK. There is a growing sense of fearfulness among the immigrant and asylum-seeking communities due primarily to publicised political forums against asylum-seekers and immigrants in the U.K.Praise God for those who have recently come to profess Christ and ask that the Lord would strengthen their faith as they seek to share the good news in this current climate.

Amelia serves in West Africa, sharing the gospel with those in a region that is very opposed to the message of Jesus Christ. She recently shared an encouraging story from a colleague about a man he has been discipling. This young man keeps his faith secret and lives in fear of anyone finding out about his faith. But the other day, he walked into his brother’s home and saw his two nieces watching the Jesus film on an Arabic TV channel. Without thinking, he exclaimed: I love this film, it’s my favourite! And with his brother sitting right there, his nieces told him that they watched this channel all the time. Pray that this would be a small beginning, and that the number of those who love Jesus would grow and grow in that family.

Hannah is the Headteacher at Wellspring School in Chad.  Pray for Hannah and her colleague Rachel to serve and support each other well, as they adjust to being a team of two, and need to adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs. Ask the Lord to sustain the students as they navigate this transitional period and build relationships with their teachers. Continue to pray for wisdom in the ‘now and not yet’ of the visa situation, as Wellspring will be significantly impacted next year if it continues, and that Hannah and the team will walk closely with the Lord through these unknowns, trusting in His guiding hand and daily provision.

Ann works among an unreached people group in northern Chad. Pray that she can find someone enthusiastic to treat the mentally ill and epileptics when she retires, as there is little interest at the moment.

Hannah is working in the south of England with the Borderless team, reaching unreached African people groups in the UK. Please pray for discernment as she explores how to best build relationships with women living in her local community and introduce them to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for the 1-2 million Tuareg who live in the Sahara Desert and Sahel regions of Algeria, Libya, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send labourers into the Tuareg field, and that believers living nearby would be burdened to reach out to their neighbours in love and share the gospel.
