This project supports the ongoing work of translation, women’s literacy, language learning, and the creation of local language resources for work on the Islands of the Indian Ocean. “The printing of a book of island proverbs has been very well received,” writes one team leader. “It has opened many doors, up to the highest levels of government and has given credibility and shown tangibly our value for local vernacular.”

Currently no organisation, Christian or otherwise, exists to specifically support and care for vulnerable women caught in prostitution in Talatamaty, and the needs are great in the capital as a
