Phinehas and Deborah

Phinehas and Deborah are in a creative access location working with local believers to equip leaders, facilitate church planting and build gospel relationships. They are working primarily with three local tribes, reaching out to them with the message of Jesus.

They were called to serve in global mission in 2003 after serving in their home church for many years. They and their two teenage daughters love Jesus and are walking in His grace in response to His faithfulness to them over the years.

The challenges of their ministry include not only reaching out to the unreached with the gospel but also leading teaching and discipleship classes to help equip local church leaders to effectively lead, serve and plant churches in their home country.

Pete and Libby Halestrapย serve the African church through online medical training, and care for Third Culture Kids and their families. They were especially encouraged to see how God continues to use Kijabe Hospital for his glory on a recent visit back to where they used to serve. The growth in patient numbers, training opportunities, and discipleship of students is exciting to witness. A particular highlight was seeing the new classroom building, now part of Kijabe College of Health Sciences. Before they left, Pete was excited that he had secured a small amount of funding to build four new classrooms. Less than two years later, God has done immeasurably more than they could have asked or imagined: a brand-new building now stands with around twenty classrooms, counselling rooms, innovation centres, and even online learning studios. They had the immense privilege of opening the building as a family, and an even greater honour in seeing it named after them. It was already bustling with students from across Africa, and witnessing it being used and hearing about its future impact was deeply moving.

Pray for the 1.4 millionย Sakalava of Madagascarย who live on the west coast of the island as semi-nomadic pastoralists who also grow some rice. Pray for the Sakalava believers. Pray for the translation work. Ask the Lord to add to the church daily those who are being saved.

Pray that disciples will be made amongst African people, in dependence on the grace and power of the Lord, in partnership with African churches, and with priority for unreached people groups.

Rex and Ruby*ย have served in a variety of creative access locations, seeking to share the gospel with those who have yet to hear it, and currently lead teams in sensitive countries. Reflecting on the parable of the sower, they ask us to pray for deep roots where there is response to the good news, with quick maturity and true understanding of the gospel. Pray for daily feeding and saturation by the truths of the Word. Pray for healthy preparation and dependence on the Lord and a steadfastness that endures the hot sun and continues growing, come what may.

Alan and Pauline Jordanย serve with the Africa Inland Church in Nanyuki, northern Kenya.ย Alan continues BTCP/L lessons for the nine students who havenโ€™t finished various books. A graduation has been booked for Saturday 31st January 2026 at AIC Nanyuki. The Jordans are rejoicing in an answer to their prayers for someone to come alongside Alan to assist him in teaching the BTCP/L and mentoring the graduates who have started new small classes. John Barry began to teach new students in October. These students have been waiting some time to start the course. He is teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays at the church with Alan. John comes as a teacher with his wife Shan, both having many years of missionary experience in Africa.

Creative Access

We use โ€˜Creative Accessโ€™ to refer to nations, areas or ministries where there is great hostility towards Christianity and where traditional โ€˜missionary workโ€™ is not possible. Workers, therefore, need to be โ€˜creativeโ€™ in how they proclaim the liberating news of Jesus Christ. In North Africa alone, 200 million people from 472 unreached people groups are unreached with the gospel. Thatโ€™s 200 million people unknowingly heading for a Christ-less eternity.
