Teach English in Mozambique

Could you disciple University students & other Nationals through teaching English as a foreign language in Nampula, Mozambique.

Background

Since independence from Portugal in 1975 Mozambique was battered by civil war, economic woes and famine. Since peace in 1992 though, the country has developed one of the world’s fastest growing economies. Many are still unreached with the gospel & 17% of the country practice Islam.

Ministry and Type of Work

The major tasks of this job include: participation in weekly team meetings, intentional relationship building visits to the Campuses, recruitment of would-be English students, teaching English, friendship evangelism with students and if the person has the training, disciplining students to make other disciples.

There are tremendous Bible communication & discipleship opportunities within and outside this job  and there would be opportunities to hold Discovery Bible Study groups for interested seekers. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) Training or something equivalent.
  • Some experience in teaching English, working on a Campus or with Student Ministry desirable.
  • Must be self-motivated; and be confident in friendship building.

Duration: 3 – 12 months

Yes. Whether you go on a team assignment with other short termers, or an individual assignment, you will be part of a team once out on the field. Both teams and individuals will be placed within teams of long term workers and you will be a part of supporting their ongoing ministries.
