Jurgen and Katja Hofmann serve in Madagascar, reaching out to the Tanala people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jurgen was recently in another area of Madagascar where he learned the hard way that the local dialect was different to his own area. Explaining the seventh commandment, what he said was understood in the local dialect to mean “You may picnic, but not secretly with your neighbour’s wife. ”Most people in the area had no knowledgeof the Gospel. One village had never even heard the name of Jesus! Yes, they knew that God the Creator exists — how else would everything have come into being? But they wondered who His Son was and where He lived. Jurgen said the Lord Jesus now lived in heaven. “Oooh, so He is dead,” they said. Great surprise when Jurgen explained to them that He had been dead, but had come alive again on the third day! Several villages have indicated they would like to hear more about Jesus, the Son of God, the Saviour of the world.
