Fuel his Mission Through Prayer

Prayer is the heartbeat of every breakthrough in the lives of Africans around the world. When you pray for AIM’s missionaries and Africa’s unreached peoples, you’re not just offering support—you’re wielding the most powerful tool in advancing God’s kingdom.

Your prayers matter

Every church planted, every life transformed, and every breakthrough among unreached people groups begins with prayer. Your prayers are just as vital as our missionary’s service.

Current prayers

North Africa

Please pray for one of our affiliates travelling to North Africa for a short visit. She teaches remotely at a school and visits in-person regularly. The mission team there recently completed two days’ of outreach in the community before the start of the academic year. Please pray for fruit from that. Pray too for safe journeys for the travelling teacher, a good start to the new term with students and new colleagues, opportunity to re-connect and have meaningful conversations with local unbelievers, and help with a heavier teaching load this year.

Ndau of Mozambique

Pray for the 500,000 Ndau of Mozambique who live in the Zambezi Valley of Central Mozambique all the way to the coast, as well as in Zimbabwe. Please pray for the spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional health of Pastors Mateus, Vancelho, Isaac, and Joaquim along with their families and all the congregations they look after.  Ask the Lord for perseverance and provision for the needs of the communities struggling with hunger as times are very hard. Please continue to pray too for the youth, that the Lord would raise up a new generation of Christian leaders amongst the Ndau!

Creativity

Core Value: Creativity. We value continual learning, reflection, and creativity. The Lord does not change (Mal 3:6) but does new things (Is 43:19). Pray that faithfulness to Him and His calling will lead all in AIM to grow, adapt, and innovate to fit our changing ministry contexts.

Graham and Fiona

Graham and Fiona* served in a creative access location and are back in the UK for their final home assignment before their retirement. A year after returning from Africa they are finally able to move into their home after a prolonged difficulty was resolved. Pray for them in these busy next few weeks, moving their stuff from various places into their own house and then going to the AIM Autumn Conference. After that, they will be visiting family in the USA before resuming their Scottish pilgrimage with a new beginning in Dunblane. *Name changed for security reasons

West Africa

About 18 months ago, a group of local Christian leaders in West Africa* were imprisoned. Through harsh conditions they stood strong and were released with tacit approval to practice their faith. Then a couple of months ago the body of a local believer, buried the day before, was exhumed by a mob and dragged through town. Following this, the believers were warned that they couldn’t be buried in public cemeteries. In response, three local believers sent a letter to the governor requesting that they be given land for a private cemetery. What boldness! It’s incredible to see how each new pressure hasn’t forced them down into fear and hiding, but up into even greater courage, stepping further out into the open. Imagine if this was approved – it would surely cement their presence in the region, pushing forward past anything that has happened here before. So, please pray for those making decisions. Pray also for the wider local community, that God would move hearts so they would come to gladly accept the presence of believers amongst them. Pray for these three men who put their names to the letter, as well as the rest of the church family. Whatever the outcome, pray that their hearts would be filled with peace, and they would know that God delights in them. Pray also for the right level of nationwide awareness about these events – so that, if helpful, many will hear and meaningful conversations will be sparked. Or it may be that less attention allows things to grow until they achieve a momentum that can’t be stopped! God knows better than us what is needed, thank you for asking Him to do just that.

Amelia

Amelia* serves in West Africa, sharing the gospel with those in a region that is very opposed to the message of Jesus Christ. She has recently been learning from her language teacher about the influential Griot (musicians/singers) status group – this is a hereditary caste-like group who serve as oral historians, poets, musicians and praise singers. Though considered to be of low status, they wield a lot of power through their ability to praise or shame through song. She has heard stories about policemen stopping cars for traffic infringements, but on hearing the family name, quickly letting them go (or as one story goes, even paying them to drive on) after they recognised a Griot family name. Please join Amelia in praying for the redemption of music from being a weapon wielded for money or power, or for the praising of individuals or families. Pray instead for a release of worship that unites people and stirs hearts as they turn to look at Jesus. Ask the Lord to raise up writers and singers of worship songs. *Name changed for security reasons
