One Church, many places

Zephaniah 3:10 holds a stunning promise. โ€œEven from beyond the Ethiopian rivers, all my scattered, exiled people will come home with offerings for worship.โ€

This verse prophesies that even from far-off Africa, God is calling Africans from across the continent by name and geography to himself. God created every person, and every people group to worship him. Every time someone hears the good news of Jesus in their own language, every time a church begins to sing his praises in a remote community, we see God’s promises unfolding.

The Church is aliveโ€”growing under trees in Uganda, gathering secretly in North Africaโ€™s ancient cities, and taking root even amidst conflict in South Sudan. Across Africa, God is building his Church in extraordinary ways, but there are still places where no church exists at all, and worship is absent simply because they have not yet heard who Jesus is.

Thatโ€™s why mission exists: to invite people into the joy of knowing and worshipping the living Godโ€”awakening praise where there has only been turmoil and silence.

These verses in Zephaniah give us confidence that what we do is not just a good idea, itโ€™s part of Godโ€™s plan foretold in Scripture. One day, worship will rise from every tribe and tongue and until then we will serve the church to see Christ-centred churches established so that worship may spread across all of Africa .

The Church must go.

We invite you to see how God is at work across Africaโ€”and how you can be part of his mission.

Be encouragedโ€”youโ€™re part of the Church on the move, reaching the unreached.
