Tony writes: “… I left church this morning with a great sense of gratitude and joy! I am presently staying in Nairobi for a few days to meet with various Kenyan Christian Network leaders. The aim is to see how we might work together in mobilising Kenyan missionaries to bring the Word of God to the unreached in Africa and beyond. The sense of joy and the gratitude is not only in the mission and calling that we have received, but in the worship, welcome and Word experienced in Nairobi Baptist Church this morning. A full, bustling church with six services taking place in their very impressive buildings. There are services for those with impaired hearing, for those who prefer a lively music; services for the young and college students; for those who speak English or those who speak Swahili; an early ‘Word Central Service’ where they dig deeply into Scripture (this morning Matthew 7:21). The pastor announced that he will be travelling to the UK this week to speak at the Keswick Convention. The theme of the church this year is ‘God is on the move’, and I must say it would be hard to argue with this theme! Please pray that this church and the many others like it across Africa would be mobilised to mission. May they have an ear to what the Spirit is saying, and keep in step with him.”
