Russ & Lyn Noble

Sent from Gillingham Baptist Church, Kent

Until February 2018, Russ & Lyn worked with the AIC South Sudan, developing and encouraging adult literacy in mother tongues. They desired to see adults reading the Bible in the language they understand best. Most women cannot read or write and some are leaders in the church. The Nobles were also involved with children’s ministries.

South Sudan became the world’s newest country on 9 July 2011. It was the outcome of the 2005 peace deal that ended Africa’s longest-running civil war. The majority of the population adhere to Christianity. Only 18% call themselves Muslim unlike Sudan, which is 97%.
