Teaching and supporting the AIM team at the Sofala Bible Institute, in developing the leadership of the Mozambican church.

Background:

Sofala’s vision is to train and disciple Mozambican Christian workers for diverse ministries in the church, in order to build up Christ-centred churches committed to God’s mission in the world. It seeks to encourage missionary vision, both in the institute and the churches which it serves, to see them sending and supporting national missionaries to their own people and others. The aim is for Sofala to be a Mozambican evangelical institution of theological education, led by Mozambicans, capable of generating and managing resources with a view to becoming self-supporting.The Sofala Bible Institute offers five courses: Sunday school teacher training, Basic Bible studies, Certificates in Theology (Lower and Upper Secondary) and a Bachelor’s in Theology. Many of the courses are taught by Mozambican professors trained by Sofala,

Teaching sub-BA level courses at the Sofala Bible Institute training church leaders in Bible and Theology. There must also be the willingness to spend time with students.

BA in Bible Studies / Theology
Teaching experience is desired

How do I begin the application process?

The easiest way is to fill out the contact us form on our website. Once we receive that form, we’ll be in touch to arrange a time to discuss together how the Lord is leading you.

How long does the application process take? How soon can I be on the field?

The short term application process normally takes six months.

How much does short term cost?

The approximate cost of a placement is £600-£1,800 for 1-4 weeks, £3,000 for 3 months, £4,500 for 6 months, and £7,000 for 12 months (though this will vary depending on the country and type of placement).

Don’t forget to ask your church about ways they can help you to raise support. You can also earn the money, apply for grants, organise a sponsored event or hold an information evening about what you will be involved in. Further guidance on raising support will be given once you have been accepted onto the short term programme.
