North Africa Long Term Team: Serve a community
We are looking for people to join a team in a new location in North Africa, to share the gospel with those who have never heard it.
The location is a popular tourist spot, which means that there are lots of opportunities for team members to contribute to the community and build relationships through work such as teaching English, running a mountain bike shop, running a diving centre, exporting local crafts (among many more). This influx of local tourists also creates opportunities to reach people with the good news of Jesus from other areas of the country too.
We use ‘Creative Access’ to refer to nations, areas or ministries where there is great hostility towards Christianity and where traditional ‘missionary work’ is not possible. Workers, therefore, need to be ‘creative’ in how they proclaim the liberating news of Jesus Christ.
Where will you be living?
We plan to start in one town, with two or three single people or family units joining us. As the team grows, we would like to see them spread throughout neighbouring towns with approximately three single people or family units in each town.
What will you be doing?
In order for us to become established in the community and be granted visas to stay long term, all single and family units will need a viable identity in the community. This often means running your own business. Many of the business opportunities in that area relate to tourism and would therefore be seasonal. This would mean that during the busy summer period you would be very visible in going about business tasks, helping you to be accepted by the community, and allow time in the off-season for deepening relationships with those who have shown an interest in studying the Bible.
