Long Term – Outreach Team Members

This team will work in a professional capacity, with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), to meet the needs of the community. Members of this team may come from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including school-teaching, English-as-a-second-language (ESL) teaching, sports coaching, rehabilitation, social work, healthcare, economics, or environmental conservation (other areas will be considered). Whilst working in a professional capacity, this team will build relationships with those in the community, in order to speak about the Gospel and disciple local believers.
Experience (required & desired)
Required: Practical experience in discipleship – both receiving and providing
Desired: Two or more years experience in area of professional training
Training & qualifications (required & desired)
Required: Undergraduate Degree (or appropriate level of professional competency) in a recognized field that is suitable for a development-based NGO.
Desired: Masters level or above in recognised field of study suitable for community development.
Personal characteristics required
First and foremost, you will be passionate about reaching an unreached people group from another major world religion and discipling the local church. You will be good at empowering others, patient, compassionate and teachable, having good interpersonal skills. You will be able to live in hot and humid conditions and be willing to adapt to the local culture, including dress, food, and personal conduct. You will be resilient and flexible, able to live with ambiguity and insecurity on a day-to-day basis.
